Healthy Opportunities for Parents to Experience Success – Healthy Families Iowa (HOPES-HFI) provides family support through home visiting for families that begin during pregnancy or at the birth of a child and can continue for up to 4 years of the child’s age.
Program Goals:
- Promote optimal child health and development.
- Improve family coping skills and functioning.
- Promote positive parenting and family interaction.
- Prevent child abuse and neglect, as well as infant mortality and morbidity.
HOPES-HFI programs are available in six Iowa counties: Black Hawk, Clinton, Floyd, Tama, Des Moines, and Lee. All 5 programs providing HOPES-HFI services with state grant funds in these six counties have been awarded national accreditation by Healthy Families America.
